Over 15,000 walking sticks and
canes! That is how many hand carved
sticks and canes this award winning Oklahoma artist has produced in
just the
last 15 years. Starting carving some 35 years ago, John
Cassel has produced
custom carvings ranging from plaques and animals
to cowboys and canes. His prized work is in thousands of homes especially
throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Texas as a result of J C's
participation in numerous regional
craft shows. Now YOU have the
opportunity to own one of this veteran carvers creations. Each piece is
dated and carries his familiar J C signature.
Most sticks and
canes are produced from Dogwood (light color), Hickory
(yellow/brown),
Cedar, Pine, and Sassafrass (orange). Common root cane and
stick
carvings include windspirit characters, snake heads, Indian heads, dog
heads, buffalo, eagles Dogwood blooms, vines and family crests.
All handled canes are topped and joined with a brass
feral and steel
dowel screws. Each cane/stick is guaranteed (if it
"busts or breaks" return
it for a new one!!).
J C also is the
artist responsible for the custom relief carvings found on many FORT
SANDFLAT GUN VISES. Have a gun needing a hunting scene relief
carving--J C is your artist. You furnish the idea or photograph and J
C will
take it from there and make it come to
